Ann-Marie James: Alchemy

This online exhibition focusses on Ann-Marie James's series Alchemy, which is inspired by her responses to prehistorical and ancient objects. Ann-Marie James is known for drawing upon cultural artefacts for inspiration, which are revered, poetic, beautiful or sublime. She has a particular interest in the ways in which the art of the past might be re-examined today, and is known for her rigorous research and celebration of art history. As such she was the ideal choice to work in partnership with Wessex Museums to create series of works based on significant objects from their collections. 

This online exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue featuring an interview with Ann-Marie James by Stephen Feeke.
